Back to nature with essential oils.

Essential oils and other botanicals have been used as early as at least 5,000 years ago. It was used for healing, as cosmetics and during rituals. Over the years we, humans, somehow forgot about the power of nature. Maybe due to technology and the introduction of synthetics. That’s a pity. Nature is full of treasures waiting to be explored and used. Essential oils are one of natures beautiful gifts. And luckily essential oils are gaining worldwide recognition for their versatility again. And that is exactly Young Livings mission; to get essential oils in every home in the world.

What are essential oils?

Essential oils are the aromatic internal juices in plants. It’s part of their survival strategy. And we, humans and animals, can gratefully benefit from those treasures of nature by adding the oils to our bodies and minds in several ways.
The oils are distilled from the plants by steam distillation or compression. Essential oils are extracted from the roots, bark, flowers, leaves, resin etc. These oils are not fatty but volatile, which means they have the ability to leap into the air.
Totally different from the fatty oils that are extracted from nuts and seeds. These fatty oils can be used as carrier oil to dilute or mix the essential oils.

Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual

The essential oils can work on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.
And every oil can do it’s magic on different levels.
For instance, Lemon essential oil is good choice for cleaning your skin and body, but can also be used to cheer you up or to keep you focused during work or study.
There’s a description available for every oil. When you purchase your oils by signing up with me or somebody from Oil up, we can inform you about all the oils and other products. Ways to use the oils

Aromatic

You can breathe in the goodness of the oils in several ways. With the Premium Starter Kit comes a high quality diffuser which uses ultrasonic technology to diffuse the oils without compromising their therapeutic value.
Another way to inhale the oils is to add some drops of oil in the palm of your hands, rub your hands together and cup them over nose and mouth while you breathe to take the aroma in.
Inhaling directly from the bottle is also a good way to take in the oils.
When we breathe in aromatic molecules, they travel to the top of the nose where the molecules come in contact with specialized nerve cells.  Then nerve impulses are being processed which travel to the limbic system, the part of the brain which is most concerned with survival, instincts and emotions.
Therefor inhaling the oils is a great way to use the oils for emotional support.

Topical

You can use the oils on your skin. The oils are absorbed in the bloodstream very quickly. The molecules are very tiny and are traceable in the blood in 26 seconds. After about 20 minutes the oil has reached every cell in your body.
Some oils can be used pure, others need to be diluted.

With physical discomfort you can rub the oil on the location where you feel the discomfort.
But it’s also possible to rub the oils on reflex points on the soles of your feet for instance.
When you use the oils for emotional support, you might want to rub the oil on the location of one or more chakra’s (energy points in the body).

Internal

So by actually swallowing them using a capsule or by adding them to your drinking water or in meals. Not all oils are suitable for ingestion though. There’s a list of oils that are considered safe by the FDA.
All the Young Living oils that have white labels (plus-oils and Vitality oils) are officially approved by the FDA for internal use.

Young Living also provides vegetable capsules which can be used to take in the oils.

FAQ

What's the difference between essential oils en 'etherische olie'?

There is no difference. Essential oil is English and ‘etherische olie’ is Dutch. But remember…not all oils are created equal. So not all bottles of essential oils actually have the pure good stuff in them. With Young Living you know for sure you have the right stuff.

What's the shipping time for my order?
Depends on where you are located. When you live in The Netherlands, you’ll have your order within one or two working days.
Young Living has warehouses all around the globe, so the shipping time depends on how far you live from the nearest warehouse.
Is the oil safe to use for children and babies?

A lot of oils can be used on kids and babies, but not all of them. Read the label of the bottle to be sure.
The Young Living oils are very pure and concentrated, so dilute the oils with a carrier oil according to the recommendations for children and babies.

How do I know which oil to use for what?

There are several ways to keep yourself informed about the oils. The person that you signed up with, will remain your sponsor and your contact for any questions you might have.
Also there are a lot of websites and books where you can find loads of information.

Can I use the oils for my pet?
Most oils can also be used for pets and other animals. But the ‘rules’ might be different for them. There are different diluting guidelines for instance. And there are some oils that are not suitable for cats. All the information will be available to you through an online community.
Can the oils be bought in stores?

You will not find Young Living products at your local stores. Young Living is working with independent Brand Parnters. After you’ve purchased your Saterter Kit or other products by signing up with an independent Young Living Brand Partner, this person will also be your sponsor (or one of their team mates will be your sponsor). They will be happy to keep you informed and answer your question.
It is possible that a Brand Partner owns a shop or salon and has the oils there in a display.
In addition, there are a number of official Young Living stores around the world. These are often found at or in the head offices or near one of their farms.
If you are a member of Young Living, you can also buy oils from the shop with your membership number.

What if I'm not satisfied and want to return something?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, which I doubt ;-), Young Living has a friendly return policy.

– Any unopened product within 30 days after shipment for a full refund in the same method of payment of the purchase price and applicable sales tax (less shipping charges).

– Any opened product within 30 days after shipment for a credit on your Young Living account of the purchase price and applicable sales tax (less shipping charges).
– Any opened or unopened product up to 90 days after shipment for a credit on your Young Living account of the purchase price and applicable sales tax (less shipping charges and a 10% handling fee). The credit applied for opened product will be based on the percentage of the product returned. For example if you return 50% of a product, then a credit of 50% (less shipping charges and a 10% handling fee) will be applied to your Young Living account.

Are Young Living oils organic?
Yes. On any Young Living farm and partner farm the plants are grown organic.
Since Young Living has farms in many different parts of the worlds it’s quite a challenge to start with official organic labels. Every country has other rules and price tags for these labels. And…not all products from other brands that do have the organic label are actually 100% organic.
So Young Living decided not to go for the official organic labels and spend the money on good product instead of a label.
But it is all organic.
What's the expiration date of the oils?
Young Living is obliged to put an expiration date on the label. But the oils can be used way longer, then what it says on the label. If you store the oils in a cool place and away from the sun, they stay good for many years. Close to forever.
May I offer the oils to my customers in my practice or salon?
Yes, you sure can! The oils and other Young Living products can be of great value to your clients. Please contact me for more information on this subject.
